The Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors (WAMP) has honored Excalibur Seasoning Sales Consultant Andy Pearson as the 2025 Person of the Year, celebrating his service, leadership, and commitment to the meat processing industry and community.

Scott Vorpagel, president & CEO of Lake Geneva Country Meats, presented the award to Andy at the 2025 WAMP Convention in Middleton, Wisconsin, April 9 – 13.

“Andy’s journey began as a boy in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, jumping off the school bus as a six-year-old to help his father trim wild game,” said Vorpagel. “Even then, Andy’s dedication to the craft and hard work were clear — values that would shape the path of a remarkable career.”

As part of a three-generation meat market, Andy played a pivotal role in transforming the family business, 6th Street Market, a long-time, popular meat processor in Ashland, Wisconsin. He expanded operations into wholesale and pioneered an award-winning line of snack sticks that gained nationwide success. His deep knowledge of smoking and sausage-making became the backbone of the business’s growth.

“After joining WAMP on the recommendation of Excalibur Sales Consultant Rick McLimans, Andy entered his first product show and won a Grand Champion award with his original recipe,” Vorpagel recalled. “This led to national and international honors, including gold and silver in Germany. He then completed his Master Meat Crafter certification in 2014, further confirming his reputation as a skilled artisan and industry leader.”

Andy’s contributions go far beyond awards. He served on the WAMP Board of Directors, led the Product Show Committee, and played a key role in modernizing registration and check-in systems. Now as a Supplier Member Director, he remains actively involved—serving on committees, mentoring others, and consistently championing the association.

When his family decided to close 6th Street Market, Andy took a leap of faith and joined the team at Excalibur Seasoning in 2020. His sales territory includes northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan.

“Andy’s blend of technical know-how, dedication to the craft, and passion for helping others has left a tremendous impression on our customers, our team, and the meat processing community in general,” says John Brewer, vice-president of Sales & Marketing at Excalibur Seasoning.

Congratulations, Andy Pearson. This is an honor well-earned by a man who exemplifies leadership, service, and excellence in every cut, blend, and step of the way.
