Several Excalibur customers won awards in the Illinois Association of Meat Processors (IAMP/IMPPA) 2023 Product Competition in Effingham, Illinois in February.

There were 225 entries in the competition in 23 different categories ranging from fresh brats, smoked and cured snack sticks, jerkies, and sausages, ham and bacon categories, as well as deli meat categories and new beef and pork innovation products.

“There were nine kinds of bacon entered with flavor profiles ranging from cinnamon/sugar to maple, along with raspberry chipotle, black pepper and jalapeno flavored bacon,” recalls Scott Werner, Excalibur sales consultant who attended the show and judged the bacon flavor category.  “I was not disappointed with any of them. All were good products. It was difficult to come up with the top four in the category for an award.”
